The infrared light (808 nm) of the Safe Laser 500 Infra is absorbed in much deeper tissue layers than red light lasers (its biological effects can reach up to 8 cm deep). This makes it highly effective for treating musculoskeletal conditions, where it provides pain relief, reduces inflammation, and accelerates the healing of muscles, tendons, and joints.
With higher doses, it can also support the regeneration of joint cartilage surfaces and cartilage tissue.
It supports faster healing after dental treatments and surgeries, and promotes osseointegration during implant procedures. It also alleviates acute pain caused by orthodontic adjustments and helps teeth move faster, potentially shortening the duration of orthodontic treatment.

Injuries
Conditions Caused by Overuse
Degenerative conditions
Musculoskeletal diseases may affect various parts of the body and multiple joints.
Soft laser therapy shortens the healing time of traumatic and sports injuries!
When applied before surgery, it helps hematomas and edema absorb more quickly, making the surgical area more accessible and reducing pain.
After surgery, using the laser once or twice daily supports faster recovery.
In cases of bone fractures, a small “window” is often cut into the cast, allowing direct laser irradiation to effectively support the bone healing process.
Promotes the regeneration of normal tissue in cases of skin abrasions, scrapes, and post-operative wounds; also supports the healing of hard-to-heal wounds and ulcers.
Surface skin and mucosal conditions – such as herpes, mouth sores, ulcers, and aphthae – as well as periodontal disease can be effectively treated using the optional fiber optic accessory.
Toothaches and inflammations can be effectively treated either externally (through the cheek) or internally using the fiber optic attachment.
Following dental procedures, oral surgeries, or implant placement, soft and bone tissue healing is accelerated.
Around dental implants, it promotes epithelial attachment, supporting the ossification phase and improving implant integration.
Post-surgical recovery time is shortened, allowing for earlier removal of sutures.
It relieves acute pain during orthodontic treatment and supports faster tooth movement, thereby shortening the duration of orthodontic therapy.
Prolonged jaw muscle spasms or lockjaw (trismus) can occur for various reasons, such as an inflamed wisdom tooth.
A few minutes of Safe Laser treatment applied to the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) helps relax the jaw muscles, reduce inflammation, and relieve trismus within minutes.
In many cases, tinnitus can be significantly reduced or even eliminated.
In cases of sudden hearing loss, improves hearing when used with a fiber optic attachment
Relieves the symptoms of sinusitis and respiratory inflammations.
The Safe Laser 500 Infra laser should be applied in direct contact with the painful or injured area, and held in place for the recommended duration before moving it to the next point.
Multiple points can be treated one after another, depending on the size of the painful or damaged area. In general, pressure-sensitive points should be targeted.
For maximum safety, only turn the laser on after placing it on the skin to avoid accidental eye exposure. At the end of the treatment, turn off the device before lifting it from the skin.
If direct contact with the skin is not possible due to an open wound, hold the laser as close as possible (within 0.5 cm). In this case, extend the treatment time by 1 minute per point to ensure that the body receives the necessary amount of therapeutic energy for proper healing.
Different conditions require different energy doses (measured in Joules) for effective healing.
Higher energy levels can be achieved by increasing the duration of irradiation.
4–5 Joules of energy = minimum 2–2.5 minutes of irradiation:
Strains, bruises, muscle spasms, improving microcirculation, mild musculoskeletal injuries, acute and chronic inflammation, dental and oral conditions, skin problems
15 Joules of energy = 3 minutes of irradiation:
Pain relief, more severe musculoskeletal conditions.
25 Joules of energy = 5 minutes of irradiation:
Cartilage regeneration, deep tissue musculoskeletal injuries, torn ligaments, muscles, and tendons, bone fractures (in the early phase, even 2 treatments per day may be beneficial)
With optical fiber: 4–8 Joules of energy = 15–30 seconds of irradiation
With nasal applicator: 4 Joules of energy = 3 minutes of irradiation
The frequency of treatments depends on the duration of the condition. When did the problem begin?
Acute conditions (Recent injuries or symptoms, or post-surgical recovery): Apply laser therapy daily for 1–2 weeks, then reduce to 3 times per week until symptoms fully subside. Improvement is often noticeable within the first session or within 24 hours.
Chronic conditions (Existing for more than 6–8 weeks): Apply the laser 3 times per week until symptoms disappear or significantly improve.
Healing typically takes longer — days, weeks, or even months.
During the initial treatments, some users may experience mild tingling or even temporary worsening of pain, especially in painful chronic conditions.
This is a normal therapeutic reaction and indicates that the body is responding to the treatment.
Pain usually decreases steadily with each session, and typically subsides after 3–4 treatments, followed by noticeable improvement.
If the painful joint neither improves nor worsens, it’s likely the dose is too low (irradiation time too short). In this case, increase the treatment time by about 2–3 minutes.
If symptoms worsen despite regular treatment, this may indicate over-treatment (excessive dose or frequency). While over-treatment does not cause permanent damage, it can lead to temporary symptom aggravation. In such cases pause treatment for a few days, then continue with a reduced dose or shorter sessions.
A common reason for temporary discomfort is the sudden activation of microcirculation in stagnant tissue areas. This can flush out accumulated waste products, occasionally causing nausea, fatigue, or general malaise—especially when large areas are treated with high doses.
If pain does not improve even after increased doses within a few weeks, the issue may be referred pain (the actual source is elsewhere). In such cases, trigger point therapy may help identify the real cause.
More frequent or longer treatments do not necessarily speed up healing, as there is a biological limit beyond which cells cannot be further stimulated by irradiation.
When treating muscles, carefully palpate the area and treat the pressure-sensitive (tender) points.
For joints, treatment is typically applied along the joint line. Joints can be opened slightly by bending the limbs, allowing the light to penetrate deeper into the joint. Palpate the muscles moving the joint and treat their sensitive points as well.
When treating tendons, focus on the tendon attachment points, the muscle–tendon junctions, and pressure-sensitive areas.
The therapy can still be effective even if the treatment points are not precisely targeted, since the infrared light from the Safe Laser covers a large area.
